somewhere over the rainbow

This morning I woke up singing "Somewhere over the rainbow" in my head. Being curious I gave a thought about it and here is the story:

Yesterday I read a short article in which the author was referring to Woody Allen's film "Whatever works" in which Larry David, co-creator of "Seinfeld", has the leading role. Larry has his own TV series which is called "Curb your enthusiasm" and in one of the episodes that I have seen on the 15 August, they were watching the scene from "The wizard of Oz" where Dorothy Gale was performing the song. Two weeks later, on the 28 August I have seen the movie "9" and it was used there also. OK, sufficient to explain where it comes from but not enough to enlighten why it appeared out of nowhere.

Going a bit further, I searched on "eksi sozluk", kind of an internet "Hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy", where I finally found a clue. Yesterday it was "La nuit blanche" in Paris and we made a tour in the latin quarter where the gay population is high. I found out on the site that this song is kind of an anthem for them. Apparently, my brain had this information somehow so he made the connection and raised the song.

The bottom-line is, maybe I should stop drinking.
